Working with Eating Distress and Body Image - The Whys and Hows

Rosemary Pitt

Do you have clients with issues around food and discomfort with their body image?
Do you feel in need of further knowledge and strategies to work with them effectively?

We will identify and explore the common features of eating distress on a continuum from anorexia to compulsive or over-eating, and the ways in which emotional conflicts are expressed through the use and misuse of food. We will consider our own relationship to eating and how this may affect the therapeutic process. A range of effective strategies for working with these clients will be explored, including appropriate referral.

This workshop is suitable for both newly qualified and experienced counsellors and therapists.

The workshop runs from 10am to 4.30pm at the Hamworthy Club, Magna Road, Canford Magna, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 3AP

Price: £65/£55 for Dacap members, including lunch
