An Introduction to Psychodrama

'Spontaneity and creativity are the cornerstones of human existence', (Moreno 1953)

Patricia Williams

This workshop will offer a gentle experiential introduction into the method and process of psychodrama and provide the opportunity to discuss its many applications.

'Psychodrama has been defined as a way of practising living without being punished for making mistakes' (Marcia Karp 1998). It allows us to safely discover a 'new response to an old situation' and participants will have the opportunity to experience the theory and process of classical psychodrama, and the application of action methods, both personally and professionally.
We will explore Moreno's theory and philosophy of Psychodrama, and incorporate the meaning and function of the techniques used in psychodrama in the context of child development theory, relationships and the development and discovery of our own creativity and spontaneity.

The techniques used in psychodrama can be applied and integrated into other theoretical models of clinical practice.

The workshop runs from 10am to 4.30pm at the Hamworthy Club, Magna Road, Canford Magna, Wimborne, Dorset, BH21 3AP

Price: £65/£55 for Dacap members, including lunch
